Whether you sell to consumers (B2C) or businesses (B2B) we recommend Standard for merchants implementing finance for the first time. Standard includes the FinMatch App, a personalised provider introduction and a step-by-step Action Plan.

Performance is perfect if you want to improve your existing setup or introduce new finance options to boost conversion – for both B2C and B2B businesses.

If you sell to consumers and businesses from an ecommerce website, then we recommend Hybrid. As part of this service we carefully optimise for dual audiences.

Q: Do I need to be FCA authorised?

A: Firstly, this point doesn’t apply to B2B merchants! The FCA regulates consumer finance only. For B2C merchants, at present, you can offer 12 months 0% finance, without FCA authorisation. If you want unrestricted access to consumer finance solutions then yes you need to become FCA registered. FinMatch FCA Assist helps UK businesses get FCA authorised quickly and easily.

Q: I’m new to Finance. How long will it take?

A: The key tasks are:

1) Signup for FinMatch Account
2) Create an action plan (we do this for you).
3) Open an account (with the provider we introduce you to).
4) Get FCA registered (we can do this for you too).
5) Integrate finance on your website (using the FinMatch App).
6) Promote your new finance proposition effectively (this is covered in the action plan)

You can progress these tasks in parallel. As a rough guide, with FinMatch support, it’s possible to implement a new finance solution in weeks, although it may take 2-4 months to get FCA authorised. Q: What about checkout integration?

A: Finance is a powerful tool, not just a checkout feature. To maximise conversions, it's crucial to promote it effectively throughout the customer journey. That's why we created the FinMatch App! It dynamically displays finance offers on your website, from category and product pages to the cart, ensuring FCA-compliant messaging and optimal placement. We'll also work with you to select the ideal credit offers and ensure a seamless integration that aligns with your business model.

Q: How much does finance typically cost to implement?

A:  The cost of adding finance as a payment option varies.  For example, if you're introducing consumer finance and aren't already FCA authorised, there are costs associated with obtaining authorisation.

It's important to view these costs as a marketing expense – an investment in growing your business and attracting more customers. Here's a breakdown of what to expect:

FinMatch Fee: Starting from £44 a month. This includes a FinMatch App license for one website to dynamically display your finance offers.

Finance Subsidies: There is a fee for some credit products (for example 0% interest free). This is called the merchant subsidy. We'll help you choose a lender(s) and credit products with fees that align with your sales goals. (there is no merchant subsidy on interest-bearing credit products).

Integration: We provide free checkout integration for many common e-commerce platforms. We can also install the FinMatch App for a fee of £299, or your web developer can handle it.

FCA Fees: The main costs involve preparing and submitting your FCA application. Our FCA Assist service is £1,249. There's also a one-time application fee payable to the FCA, which varies depending on the permissions you apply for. For example, "Limited Permissions Category 2, Secondary Credit Broking" currently costs £540. FCA authorisation is specific to consumer finance. It’s not required for commercial and B2B finance.

Other Costs: These may include development costs for complex or bespoke integrations. Your personalised FinMatch action plan will include a detailed cost breakdown to ensure you can make informed decisions.

A: FinMatch goes beyond simply referring you to a finance provider(s). We take a deep dive into your specific business needs. This includes factors like your website platform, target customers, typical order size, and the competitive landscape in your sector.
